11/20/1930	With all the pageantry of the British Empire, a conference of Indian and British leaders had been convened in London to discuss dominion status for India. Surrounded by Maharajahs in turbans, King George V convened the round table conference in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords. Notably absent was Mahatma Gandhi, leader of the nationalist movement. The conference saw a breakdown of the Indian caste system as Brahmins dealt with spokesmen for ""untouchable
10/16/1905	Bengal was partitioned by Lord Curzon on the pretext of it being too big to administer. Instead of dividing it on the basis of non-Bengali areas, the division was on the basis of Hindus and Muslims. Britishers thought that would succeed in increasing Hindu - Muslim tensions. The tremor of partition was felt throughout India and was regarded as an insult and challenge to Indian Nationalism. A movement was launched by the moderates. New method of protests 'Swadeshi and Swaraj' became the slogan of the common man and the whole of India was drawn into the national movement.
4/24/1858	Kunwar Singh, revolutionary of Indian mutiny and freedom fighter, passed away. He fought his last battle near Jagdishpur, Bihar on April 23, 1858 and defeated the Britishers but was deeply wounded. He also organised the national rebels.
5/17/1993	Ravi Naik, Goa CM, resigns; Dy. CM Wilfred D'Souza elected to succeed.
3/3/1930	Untouchable people fought to enter the temple of 'Kala Rama' at Nasik.
