4/20/1954Mian Tansen, a prominent figure of North Indian (Hindustani) classical music and famous singer of Akbar's court, died at Gwalior. Tansen is remembered for his epic Dhrupad compositions, creating several new ragas, as well as for writing two classic books on music Sri Ganesh Stotra and Sangita Sara.
12/23/1902Chaudhary Charan Singh was born at Noopur village in Hapur Tehsil near Meerut. He was a freedom fighter and had done many deeds for upliftment of Agriculture in India. He was the Prime Minister of India from July 1979 to January 1980.
